ACTIVA International Insurance Company has presented a cheque for GHS30,000 to the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) towards the organisation of its 2017 Awards night.
At a brief event held at the headquarters of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), Managing Director of the Company, Solomon Lartey, presented the award to SWAG executives.
Addressing the media, Mr Lartey said, the presentation was to show ACTIVA’s appreciation to Ghanaian sportsmen and women who have soared in their various fields of endeavour to make the nation proud.
“I wish to, on behalf of the president and executive chairman of Group ACTIVA, the board, management and staff of ACTIVA International Insurance Ghana, express our profound gratitude to SWAG for dedicating time and resources each year to give good recognition to excelling sportsmen and women. Please accept our offer of GHS30,000 towards the organisation of the 2017 SWAG awards ceremony,” he said.
The awards will be held on 27 May at the Banquet Hall, State House, and will see close to 30 distinguished sportsmen and women as well as corporate bodies honoured in both competitive and non-competitive categories.
