A massive blaze has swept through buildings within the Central Business District of Adum in the Ashanti regional capital destroying properties, fire officials have confirmed.
Eyewitnesses say five grocery shops have been affected in the fire that started on Friday 4 February around 3.50pm GMT.
Firefighters are currently at the scene to bring the situation under control.
According to local media reports, property owners looked on helplessly as their hopes appear dashed in salvaging their wares
Fire personnel are yet to establish the cause of the fire.
