Controversial musician and comedian A-Plus has said he is the most powerful figure on social media in the country and everything he says makes news.
The musician said this after actor John Dumelo rendered an unqualified apology to graduate bread seller Godfred Obeng Boateng, also known as Kwaku Vito, who he mocked on social media for selling bread in traffic.
After some backlash from some Ghanaians, including A-Plus on social media, Mr Dumelo deleted his post and apologised to Mr Boateng for his comments.
Shortly after the apology, A-Plus posted on Facebook: “Dear John Dumelo fans, I thought you guys said I can’t battle Dumelo. I told you guys that I’ll force your man to delete the post and apologise. And yes!!! He did both. I’m going to repeat what you guys hate to hear. I’m the most powerful person on social media in this country. You can have all the following but when I speak. Yeah…That’s news. That is why even though you don’t like me, you still follow me like a shepherd and his sheep (You can insult me #DoesICare)”
He added that the controversy the whole saga has generated should be put to bed following the apology by Mr Dumelo.
“My brother John Dumelo, you have earned my respect. It takes a brave man to realise his mistake and apologise. I don’t think that we should go on and on even after you have apologised. Now we can bring an end to this paanoo issue #Caseclosed”.
