President of IMANI Ghana, Franklyn Cudjoe has responded to a call by actress Yvonne Nelson for partnership to stage a huge protest over the recent power outages.
Yvvone Nelson in a tweet on Monday, April 21 appealed to IMANI Ghana for a joint force to organize a massive protest against the Akufo-Addo government.
The actress also disclosed and recalled how IMANI played a major role in supporting her to organize a massive protest over power outages in 2015 under the John Mahama administration.
Mr. Cudjoe in response to Yvonne Nelson’s tweet said the group is gearing up for a protest. However, it will consider how the protest will be organized and who to partner for the protest.
“We have heard the call by the redoubtable Ms.Yvonne Nelson for round two of #dumsormuststop. Fair call even as we (IMANI) have maintained our criticism of government’s bad decisions for what often seem like a rudderless leadership, the latest dumsor episodes being the zenith. So, as you can see (T-shirts), we are preparing and we will make the call and choose how we demonstrate and who we want to partner at the right time,” his Facebook post on Tuesday, April 23 read.
Ghanaians have recently experienced consistent ‘dumsor’ across the country with many calling for a load-shedding timetable despite government’s denial that ‘dumsor’ is back.
Despite many calls for a load-shedding timetable, the situation still remains the same with businesses affected by the impact of the situation.
Other Energy experts have also lashed out at government for its poor management of the situation.
