exercise-junkie-400x400The Ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has noted that, the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) will be put into “political coma” when the erratic power supply problem bedeviling the country is fixed by the end of this year.

According to the Eastern Regional Secretary of the party, Mark Oliver Kevor, the NPP, led by Nana Akufo-Addo, is struggling to get loopholes in the John Mahama-led NDC government to score political points apart from dumsor.

He said the NPP would be muted when the load shedding canker is fixed by government by the close of this year.

The regional secretary said this in an interview with the DAILY HERITAGE on the sidelines of a three-day conference organized by the Eastern regional secretariat of the NDC, for young women in the party across the 33 constituencies under the theme: “Women For Empowerment, the Key to Sustainable Development.”

Mr Kevor explained that apart from the energy sector which is facing challenges, government has performed very well in all the sectors of the economy with major infrastructural development across the country.

“As I speak with you now the community day schools promised by President John Mahama are being constructed in the Eastern Region with six of them nearing completion and hopefully, will be ready by September this year.

“Also as promised, the public university is a reality now as the University Act has been enacted with the physical construction billed to commence in earnest.

“With regards to water projects, the Kpong Water Project, Kwahu water project and Kyebi water project just to mention a few, a number of deplorable roads in the Akyem Enclave, Krobo area, and many other parts of the region are being constructed, the economic challenge has been addressed, now the Cedi is appreciating, so what else at all is the NPP going to use to campaign against NDC, they talk of corruption, but President Mahama has made corruption unattractive because you will face your own music if indicted without being shielded.”

Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, a national vice chairman of the party on his part encouraged the participants to work hard for victory since the NDC government has performed well across all sectors of the economy.
Mr. Ampofo mentioned a number of infrastructural developments executed in the Eastern region in particular, as a major achievement that supporters of the party could ride on for campaign to help achieve the agenda 50/50 target.

Some key personalities in the party including Lee Ocran, Hajia Zenabu Mahama, Barbara Asamoah, Emelia Arthur, Solomon Nkansah as well as the Eastern regional executives of the party such as Mark Oliver Kevor, Evelyn Koran, Haruna Apaw-Wiredu and Francis Annor Dompreh were all present to deliver their speeches.
