Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has not yet given up on winning the La Liga title, despite rivals Real Madrid showing little sign of slipping up.
As Enrique’s side won 4-1 at Las Palmas on Sunday night, Zinedine Zidane’s Champions League finalists were thrashing Sevilla by the same scoreline.
The identical results keep the two Clasico rivals neck-and-neck on 87 points at the Spanish summit, but crucially Real retain a game in hand.
That comes against Celta Vigo away from home on Wednesday evening, before Real travel to Malaga in their final match next Sunday. Barcelona host Eibar at the same time.
Four points from their two remaining matches will be enough to secure Real their first La Liga title since 2012, but Enrique still think they could falter.
He told Movistar: ‘They have two very difficult games against two teams, Celta and Malaga, who we have lost against this season.
‘If we have lost there then anyone can lose there and I want to point out that we have lost in Vigo many times.’
The Barcelona manager also tried to clear up previous comments that some interpreted on casting doubt as to whether Malaga would fight hard enough in their final day game with Real.
He said: ‘That’s not true, words have been put in my mouth. I have never doubted anyone’s professionalism. We just have to win next Sunday against Eibar at Camp Nou.
‘We have one game left and clearly the objective is to win that game, to give us a chance to be champions.’
Neymar scored a hat-trick, while Luis Suarez was also on target in their straightforward win at Las Palmas, while Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice for Real in their easy win over Sevilla.
While Real have the Champions League final with Juventus to look forward to on June 3, Barcelona will have to potentially make do with just the Copa del Rey if they miss out in the league.
They take on Alaves in the final at the Vicente Calderon in Madrid on May 27.
