Wofa Sem, a benevolent businessman and car dealer, has brought smiles to the faces of over five thousand widows in Tepa in the Ashanti Region through his annual philanthropic gesture.
This year’s event was particularly extraordinary although this is not the first time of donating to the widows.
In addition to generously providing health screening for the widows, Wofa Sem donated clothing, bags of rice, Frytol, and other essential food items, aiming to support the needy widows in Tepa, Ashanti Region.
Some Musicians like Kuame Eugene, Frank Naro, Joyce Blessing and other Kumawood actors like Komfo Kolege, Osoode and more graced the program with an electric performances to entertain the widows.
Speaking on behalf of Wofa Sem, Ghanaian Movie actor Collins Oteng known as Komfo Kolege conveyed to Angel News reporter Mubarak Yakubu that it would be beneficial if the government implemented measures to assist widows.
Kolege emphasized the challenging situations widows often face after the loss of their husbands, leaving them vulnerable and struggling to provide for their families without the support of their late husbands’ contributions.
“A lot of widows are going through a lot; some are finding it difficult to survive, but Wofa Sem has come to their aid,” said Kolege.
Wofa Sem’s charitable act of feeding about five thousand widows reflects his commitment to bringing happiness to their lives. Kolege remarked,
“When the widows are happy, Wofa Sem is also happy.”
He urged the government to consider establishing a dedicated ministry or incorporating widows’ support under the Ministry of Gender to ensure more comprehensive assistance, recognizing the ongoing struggles widows face.
“I’m, therefore, urging the government and individuals to have the widows in their minds all the time because they are really making it hard to make ends meet,” Kolege added.
Taking the opportunity, Kolege called on the affluent members of society to be mindful of widows and extend their support to them.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to Wofa Sem, stating that his generosity has given them hope to celebrate the Christmas festive season, which seemed uncertain before his intervention.
