A businessman and philanthropist, Alhaji Labaran Barry, has donated an ambulance worth 85,000 US dollars to the Winneba Municipal Hospital (WMH) in memory of his late wife Hajia Sumaiyah Labaran at a special ceremony in Winneba to support the hospital’s Accident and Emergency Unit. The facility has in built life support equipments for its smooth running.
The donation was made as a result of the hospital’s request to Alhaji Labaran and his late wife’s to assist them acquire an ambulance for the Accident and Emergency Unit. As a philanthropist, he and the wife did not hesitate but assured the hospital to offer them help at the right time.
Mrs. Victoria Reynolds Quartey, a sister to the late Hajia Sumaiyah Labaran, who donated the ambulance on behalf of the representative of Alhaji Labaran said, her sister and the husband always fulfill their promises made to people, she added that the renovated of male ward and other sectors of the hospital were through the immense support of Alhaji Labaran.
