A section of the Excel Fuel Station at Techiman on the main Kumasi-Techiman road was affected by fire on Tuesday, 13 November 2018.
A diesel tanker and other properties running into thousands of cedis belonging to the station were razed by the fire on Tuesday afternoon.
Nana Yaw Wonder, a local reporter at Agyenkwa FM said the fire started around 3pm on Tuesday after the tanker made an attempt to offload diesel at the station.
The cause of the fire is not immediately known but one individual who was assisting the driver of the tanker suffered serious burns and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
It took the intervention of fire fighters deployed from Wenchi, Nkoranza and Techiman, who spent several hours before they were able to finally put of the fire which had spread from the tanker to a section of a building located on the premises of the fuel station.
