Ghanaian highlife legend, Rex Omar has revealed that he is happy Ghanaian artistes were snubbed in Nigeria.
He branded Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale as local champions and advised upcoming artistes not be local champions.
On August 24, 2018, Stonebwoy and Stonebwoy experienced what is said to be the proverbial attitude of the Nigerian music fan towards non-Nigerian artistes.
The audience at the Zylofon-Menzgold Naija Concert gave cold reception to Shatta wale , Stonebwoy , Becca and other Ghanaian artistes .
This brought about mixed reactions on the part of Ghanaians after the snub but according to Rex Omar he is elated Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale suffered such fate.
“I am happy for what has happened in Nigeria, actually am very happy…Because we have too many local champions in this country,” expressed Omar to JOY NEWS’ Doreen Avio.
“If your son is not doing well in his class and he comes home and you always pampering him, when he goes out there then he will see the real fishes in there, it is good and a wake up call for all of us.”
