The embattled Headmaster of Battor Senior High School (SHS) in the North Tongu district of the Volta Region, Lawrence Kwasi Korley, has been asked to vacate his post to pave the way for investigations to be conducted into an alleged sex scandal involving him and a female student of the school.
Public Relations Officer at the Ghana Education Service (GES), Cassandra Twum Ampofo, confirmed to Accra100.5FM on Monday, 16 July 2018 that the national office has received the report from the Volta Regional GES office and will make the outcome of their investigations public.
Accra FM’s sources at the school have also confirmed that the headmaster did not report for duty on Monday.
Mr Korley was caught having phone-sex with one of his female students. He is heard on the audiotape frantically asking the girl to part her legs, fondle her genitalia and moan in excitement as they mutually masturbated on the phone.
The female student is heard on the tape saying she could not scream where she was.
In an attempt to justify his misconduct, Mr Korley said he had committed no crime and dared his accusers to take him to court if they believe he has erred.
“I am a man, there is no law on morality, other than that I should be behind bars. No one has come to arrest me, radio stations are saying I have been arrested but I am still in school,” he told Accra News on Thursday May 17.
This is not the first time a headmaster and a student have been involved caught in an amorous affair.
It is recalled that in January this year, the headmaster of Breman Eduman D/A Basic School in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District of the Central Region, Robert Sepey, was captured on camera having consensual sex with a female student on a kitchen stool.
Investigations by the Ghana Education Service (GES) revealed that the headmaster and the student were in a relationship but are no more.
