The Ghana Police Service has disclosed that three persons have been arrested in connection with violence after the December 7 polls.
The Public Affairs Director of the Ghana Police Service, Superintendent Cephas Arthur, explained to Prince Minkah on Class FM’s Executive Breakfast Show on Wednesday, December 14, that two people were arrested in the Brong Ahafo Region while one was picked up in the Central Region.
There were several reported cases of vandalism of public installations and pockets of violence allegedly being perpetrated by supporters of the NPP after the party’s historic victory in the December 7 presidential and parliamentary elections.
But Mr Arthur said the incidents “have completely minimised because of the stepping up of operations by the police”, adding: “They are not even occurring because of the operational activities we have put in place.”
He further stated that the police made the arrests based on the involvement of such persons in criminal activity, rather than their political affiliations.
He assured that the police would do its best to maintain the peace and security in the country.
