Customers of DKM Microfinance have asked President Nana Addo Akufo-Addo to fulfil his promise to pay their loft investments with the financial institution.
Alex Obeng, spokesperson of the aggrieved customers, told Obeng Mensah, sit-in host of Ghana Yensom on Accra 100.5FM on Friday, 18 May that the customers voted for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) due to the promise made them by the then-flag bearer.
He noted that since the NPP took over from the Mahama administration, no efforts have been made to help them retrieve their investment.
His comments come at a time Mr AAkufo-Addo is touring the Brong Ahafo region.
The tour will see the President visit a total of nine constituencies, namely Nkoranza North, Techiman South, Techiman North, Asunafo North, Asunafo South, Asutifi South, Tano North, Sunyani East and Sunyani West.
Nana Akufo-Addo will, as part of the tour, cut the sod for the construction of a District Hospital at Nkoranza, commission a new Divisional Police Headquarters for the Techiman municipality, and also commission an administrative block for the Techiman North District at Tuobodom.
The President is also expected to cut the sod for the construction of an administrative block for the Asunafo North District Assembly, inspect progress work on bridge at Asumura, as well as interact with the Chiefs and people of the respective towns he will be visiting.
“We are pleading with the president to assure us about the payment of the money,” Obeng said.
He added: “We are beginning to be disappointed in the government because nothing has been done so far to help us back our money.”
