Ambassador for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goal (SGD), Goal 6, Naa Atswei Oduro who also works at Accra 100.5FM, has indicated that the achievement of the goals under the SGD is a must.
According to her, achieving the goals will inure to Ghana’s benefits in several ways, for which all efforts must be put in place to achieve.
Goal 6 touches on access to safe water and sanitation, as well as sound management of freshwater ecosystems by 2030.
Mrs Oduro told AccraFM.com on the sidelines of the launch of plans to achieve the goals, in Accra that: “we can all see that the objectives under goal 6 are very critical. We are talking about safe water for the people, clean environment and the management of freshwater ecosystem.
“All these are things humans need in order to survive and so there is the need for all and sundry to come on board and ensure that these goals are achieved.”
She assured that she would use her media platforms to propagate the message down to the people as far as the goals are concerned.
“I will play my role as the ambassador using the platform that I have to ensure that the message gets down to the people especially the ordinary Ghanaian.
“In order to protect our water and ensure a clean sanitation the ordinary people out there will need to be told plans that are available and so I will use my media platform to educate the public.”
The launch of the implementation plan was spearheaded by Praxis Africa, a local Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) that implements agriculture, education, and local development initiatives.
Tony Mensah Abrampah, Country Director for Praxis Africa, on his part said also that the achievement of the goals is a must.
“We are starting in Accra, and we are focusing on five areas including Ablekuma West, Ablekuma Central, Ablekuma South, Ododiodioo.
