The Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) has begun implementing the free dialysis policy introduced by the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA).
This followed the receipt of official communication from the Management of the NHIA.
The hospital’s authorities said on June 6 that until they received the formal communication, the patients would be required to pay.
The free dialysis policy is an intervention by government to bring relief to patients who have had to cough up GHC595 per dialysis session.
