The vice-presidential nominee of the New Patriotic Party, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, is 53 years old today, Friday October 7.
He was a Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana in the Kufuor administration. He later became the running mate to the NPP’s flag bearer Nana Akufo-Addo for the first time ahead of the 2008 elections.
The economist has since turned out to find comfort within the political space and has partnered Mr Akufo-Addo as running mate for three times.
He won the affection of most of his party faithful when he appeared as the lead witness for the NPP in the 2012/2013 presidential election petition which challenged the declaration of John Mahama as winner.
Nana Akufo-Addo took to Twitter to wish his running mate a happy day.
