An outspoken youth activist of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Baah Acheamfour, has expressed his desire to contest for the National Youth Organiser position of the party during its delegates’ conference to be held in Cape Coast.
According to him, there is the need to further consolidate the gains the party has made among the youth of the country.
It is against this that he has shown interest in contesting to become the next National Youth Organiser of the NPP.
It is recalled Baah Acheamfour, through his group Save NPP Now, launched scathing attacks on the leadership of the NPP ahead of the 2016 polls. His posture and public utterances have been deemed injurious to the party’s image.
Speaking in an interview with Chief Jerry Forson, host of Ghana Yensom on Accra100.5FM on Monday May 22, Mr Acheamfour said: “I am currently in the Western Region meeting my team and also doing the ground works ahead of our internal polls.
“With Save NPP Now, I contributed to the party’s massive victory in last year’s elections. I am also incorruptible like our flag bearer and so I am fit for that position.
“I didn’t want that position initially but due to the numerous calls I received from Ghanaians, I decided to contest.”
