Actor Bismark Nii Odoi aka Bismark the joke who is known for his witty and comic character ever since he joined the Ghana movie industry says one can be judged as a good actor if he or she takes up challenging roles.
He said this when asked about the new role he is playing in Prince David Osei’s (PDO) television series, Shante, a character which is different from what he has been known for about three years ago.
“What makes you a good or excellent actor is by taking up challenging roles and ones you adapt, you are good to go. There is nothing comedy about my character in this television series and after this is out, my fans will see another side of me.They should look out for this,” he said.
Talking to ghkwaku, Bismark who could not hide his excitement continued to rain praises on PDO for believing in him and giving him such a role.
“I am basically very excited about this role and it came as a surprise to me when I was called to act this role but I believe Prince David Osei trusts I can deliver.As an Actor, there should be different dimensions to your acting, its all about creativity, the craft is not about tagging yourself into one category and making it your comfort zone,” he noted.
Throwing more light on his new found character, he said; “Kojo, the role I’m playing in this television series “Shante”, is a very different one particularly for me. As you know, producers and directors have tagged me as a comic actor and those are the roles they usually call me for.”
