News of violent outbursts from Azealia Banks no longer hold much shock value, but a report of an incident that took place between the rapper and her sister back in 2009 is at least surpising — even for her.
According to New York Daily News, prosecutors uncovered some fresh drama from Banks’ past just days before the femcee was set to appear in Manhattan Criminal Court for the 2015 assault on an NYC club security guard. Assistant DA Shea Donato told the Daily News, “This is a case where she slashed her sister in the neck, the arm and the hand with a box cutter.”
Wait, what?
The publication reported that Banks plead guilty to the subsequent attempted assault charges, but because she was 17 at the time she was given special treatment. Donata told the Daily News that prosecutors plan to use this incident as proof of Banks’ violent past.
Judge Ann Scherzer will decide if the rapper’s past violence can be used against her in the upcoming trial where Banks faces multiple assault charges after she allegedly punched and bit an employee at a popiular NYC nightclub.
It is not looking good for Banks, but what ever the outcome of the upcoming trial, we hope that she gets the help she clearly needs.
