The Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, has underscored the need for the newly sworn in board members of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) in addressing unemployment challenges across the country.
According to him, the high rate of unemployment in the country poses a threat to the country’s security.
Speaking at the swearing in ceremony of the nine-member board at the Ministry in Accra on Friday, 15 September 2017 Mr Baffour-Awuah charged them to work effectively in helping to achieve the President’s vision of creating jobs for the teeming youth.
The Chairman of the board, Sammy Awuku, speaking on behalf of his colleagues, said the YEA won’t serve as a vehicle of cronyism for supporters of the governing New Party (NPP).
