Embattled Ghanaian international midfielder Sulley Ali Muntari has denied slapping a referee in a friendly match played at the Kotobabi Wembly Park in Accra last week.
There were reports that Muntari had slapped the match referee John Terry after he booked him during a friendly game between Sulley Muntari XI and Laryea Kingston XI.
The reports further said Muntari kicked the ball out of touch angrily which brought the game to an abrupt end.
However in a tweet, the former AC Milan midfielder denied slapping the referee.
“What slap? STOP dragging my name through the mud! Nice try but just so you know, you can never beat a person who never gives up,” Muntari said in a tweet.

Muntari has had disciplinary issues in the past. The player was sacked from the 2014 World Cup for slapping a management member of the Black Stars at the tournament. He has since apologised for his action.
