The longest-running hip-life group in Ghana, 4×4, has revealed it will add another member to the trio if only promoters start paying them more money for shows.
Speaking on Entertainment Capital on Accra100.5FM, the group said: “Our gates are always open and you can enter, provided your game is tight and we probably like what you are doing and we feel that it makes sense, but we will add somebody if promoters start recognising the act and pay us lots of money — [we] mean in dollars — then we can add a lot of people, because the more you add, the more your responsibilities [increase].”
Raphael Edem Avornyo, popularly known as Coded, explained that he, together with Captain Planet, added the third member, Fresh Prince, because his “voice made sense”.
“Fresh Prince was my junior in school and I knew he used to rap in English, so, [once] I met him and he gave me his CD, and after playing the CD, I felt he was good. Then I had a meeting with Captain Planet and we all decided to feature him on the track ‘Hot Girls’. After a year or two, we thought it was just right to add him because his voice was making sense and we felt the voice was also needed in the group,” he said.
The award-winning group that has produced popular hit songs like Siklitele, World Trade Centre, HotGirls.Com, Waist & Power, and Yesi Yesi, is out with a new single, Atongo.
