Managing Director (MD) of Zenith Bank Daniel Asiedu has indicated that his outfit’s primary focus is on how to support its customers’ businesses.
The Best banking group, 2015, boss revealed that what makes Zenith Bank taller than its competitors is their emphasis on customers’ businesses and not on profits.
To him, the list of banks in terms of bringing dynamism into the industry would be incomplete without mentioning Zenith bank.
With a humble beginning from 2005 in Ghana, the Zenith Bank boss pointed out that it has made inroads, making lasting impression on the minds of its 200,000 customers and can look back and say it has done extremely well.
Speaking in an interview on the achievement of the bank after ten years in existence in the country he mentioned that “I believe that banking is all about financial support but how we are able to give you that support is what makes the difference. So for us the emphasis is not on profit.
“The awards is not based on just financial performance, it’s based on so many factors and key among this is customer service and for us we think that it is in the area of customer service that our strength lies. We will continue to emphasis that to the benefit of our customers.
“For us the emphasis is not on profit but the emphasis is on how we are able to support our customers’ businesses. I always tell people that what Zenith bank is selling and what the other banks are selling are not different.
“In terms of our performers and achievements, we think that looking back we’ve done well. In just three years of operation, Zenith bank was voted as the best bank in Ghana during the CIG Awards in 2008-A feed that had never been achieved before then and subsequently I think it has never even been achieved.”
He added that “Last year Zenith bank was voted as the best bank in Ghana by the Bancarmazen or the Banker Awards generally regarded as the Oscars of banking industry.
“And then this year Zenith bank has been voted as the best banking group in Ghana by the world finance. We’ve also been voted as the best Customer Service Bank, Best Corporate Bank and Best E-commerce bank by the Global Banking and
Finance review
“When you look at Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction I think majority of our customers will bear with me that we supported them.”
Currently, the bank has about 663 professional staff and over 400 support staff with about 30 business locations.
In terms of the industry performance, as at December 2014, it ranked the 6th largest bank in Ghana.
