Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso has joined the 13th club of his career after signing for Belgian side KAS Eupen on loan.
The move was completed on transfer deadline day, but the club did not make the announcement until Friday morning.
The 32-year-old has left Chinese club Shenzhen FC to join Eupen for the rest of the season.
Wakaso joins his 13th club since making his professional debut with AshantiGold in 2007.
He left Ghana in 2008 to join Elche in Spain, where he stayed for three years before joining Villarreal. Before leaving Spain, he had a brief stint with Espanyol.
Between 2013 and 2016, Wakaso was with Russian club Rubin Kazan, where he had two loan spells at Celtic and Las Palmas. He joined Panathinaikos in Greece before returning to Spain in 2017 to join Granda and then Deportivo Alaves.
Wakaso impressed for Alaves, prompting Chinese club Jiangsu Suning to pay 4 million euros for his services in 2020, but he left after a year to join Shenzhen.
Wakaso struggled in China, owing primarily to injuries, and has decided to return to Europe now that he’s fully recovered in the hopes of rediscovering his best form.
He made a total of 301 appearances and scored 14 goals for his previous 12 clubs.
Wakaso is considered a key player for the Black Stars, appearing in 70 games and scoring 13 goals.
