Former president John Agyekum Kufour has urged people of Akropong and Akuapim in the Eastern Region to vote massively for Nana Akufo-Addo, the New Patriotic Party’s presidential candidate for this year’s elections.
Speaking at a rally in the Akropong constituency, Mr Kufuor said the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) has not lived up to expectation hence the need to vote for change.
He also accused the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) of inflicting economic hardships on citizens.
“Akuapim and Akropong people are fortunate to have their own son contesting for the presidency. If we say we need change, then we have to rally behind our very own. Wherever the elephant goes, there is progress. Be wary of campaign promises and also of anybody who advises you to vote skirt and blouse. Vote for both the NPP parliamentary candidate and Nana Akufo-Addo. The president is the one who sets policies for parliament to approve, so, don’t be deceived at all. Vote for the NPP candidate and Nana Akufo-Addo and you will see development in your constituency,” Mr Kufuor said.
Meanwhile, Nana Akufo-Addo is expected to begin a four-day campaign tour of the region today, Tuesday, 15 November.
Mr Akufo-Addo will visit Afram plains, Suhum, Akwatia among others and is expected to meet the chiefs and people to sell his message of change to the electorate.
