Members of the Coalition of Unposted Veterinary Technicians have indicated that they are offended by comments by the Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture (MoFA), William Quaitoo, that picketing the ministry would amount to nothing.
The Deputy Minister on Tuesday July 4, while reacting to the picketing by the coalition, said the unposted technicians should rather channel their grievances to the Ministry of Finance for their financial clearance to be executed.
He added that it was the responsibility of the finance ministry to ensure that they are cleared to be posted.
However, the members of the coalition were unhappy about these comments.
Daniel Amoako, President of the Coalition of Unposted Veterinary Technicians, said it was MoFA that trained them and so the ministry should ensure that they are posted.
He told Chief Jerry Forson, host of Ghana Yensom, on Accra100.5FM: “It is not the Ministry of Finance that trained us, it was the Ministry of Agric, and so the deputy minister should not tell us to go to the Finance Ministry.
“We are offended by his comments and so he should apologise to us. If he doesn’t we have nothing to say, all we can say is that position will not be there forever.”
He added: “We are giving the Ministry of Agric a few days to post us or we will advise ourselves.”
