Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur is expected to begin a campaign tour of the Northern and Upper East regions soon.
He is scheduled to inaugurate the Northern Regional Campaign Taskforce of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and also interact with the Gonja Traditional Council, party executives, and parliamentary aspirants during the five-day tour.
Other areas where he is expected to visit include but not limited to Bole-Bamboi, Sala-Tuna-Kalba, Damongo, Yapei-Kusawgu, Daboya Mankarigu and Salaga North and South constituencies.
Ahead of the tour, Mr Amissah-Arthur declared on September 4 on his Facebook Page that: “President John Dramani Mahama is the safest pair of hands to lead our country”.
Meanwhile, Mr Mahama is also on a five-day campaign tour of the Central Region where the paramount chief of the Gomoa Traditional Area, Obrempong Nyamfo Krampah XI, conferred the title of Ahobrasehen – to wit, King of Humility – on him.
“With the powers vested in me as the paramount chief of the Gomoa Traditional Area, I confer on him (President John Dramani Mahama) Ahobrasehen,” the chief declared.
Mr Mahama, speaking to the chiefs and people of the area, stated that his government had undertaken several development projects covering education, health, and electricity. “We recently cut the sod for the construction of a new, modern 60-bed polyclinic at Gomoa Dawurampong in order to improve on the quality of health care delivery in the area. We have also built schools – the community day senior high schools to ensure accessibility for students who leave the Junior High Schools in Gomoa Gyaman. We have also extended electricity to several communities in the area,” he disclosed.
