Jordan Peele’s directorial debut Get Out continues to receive a standing ovation at theaters across the United States and deservedly so.
As reported, the film has now officially grossed more than $100 million domestically since it first hit the big screen just three weeks ago.
According to Deadline, the film also is the fastest project from Blumhouse Productions to reach the monumental milestone.
When stacking the numbers from this weekend, Get Out racked in another impressive $21.1 million, adding to its current total gross amount of $111 million.
While the film is currently sitting at #3, just behind Kong: Skull Island and Logan, it’s undeniable just how much of a cultural impact the movie is having.
As recent as this afternoon (Mar. 12) Kourtney Kardashian is getting slammed on Twitter for praising the film without commenting on its plot (which ironically doubles as a metaphor for her own family), adding to the film’s importance regarding its much-discussed storyline.
With Get Out continuing to be praised by critics and audiences alike, even inspiring Chance the Rapper’s recent decision to buy out an entire day’s worth of showings so fans could see the film for free, it’s without a doubt that Jordan Peele has a lot to smile about these days.
Many congrats to the cast and crew!
