The Coalition of Unposted Diploma and Registered Community Nurses has revealed plans to picket the Flagstaff House over the failure of government to have its members posted after completing their programme of study.
In a letter dated Wednesday, July 19 and signed by Kojo Selase, the president of the coalition, the nurses said: “We demand the Ministry [of Health] and the government to get financial clearance for us before the end of the month, July, else we the above-named group will picket the Ministry and the … presidency for immediate posting.”
According to the group, its members were assured by the Health Ministry of their postings soon, however, “it will surprise you to know that though we were part of the nurses who were assured of our posting in the month of July 2017, we were shocked to our marrow to see that we the above-named group of nurses from Winneba and Navrongo were sidelined totally”.
The nurses are, therefore, pleading to be posted in order to serve the country with their acquired skills. They warned that another disappointment by the government would be met with a picket.
