Ghana’s premier consumer goods company, Unilever Ghana, was adjudged the Best Practices in Sustainable Manufacturing at the AGI awards held on Saturday, 21st November, 2015 at the State Banquet Hall in Accra. This year’s awards, dubbed “Patronising made-in-Ghana goods to build strong industries”, sought to promote and maintain high business standards among businesses and industries in Ghana. Unilever emerged winner in the Best Practices in Sustainable Manufacturing category through innovative sustainability practices. Unilever achieved the remarkable feat of sending zero non-hazardous waste from its factory – in fulfilment of its Unilever Sustainable Living Plan (USLP) goal of reducing its environmental impact whilst creating a positive social impact. Over the years, Unilever Ghana has undertaken various projects in line with the USLP goals that has ensured world class sustainable practices in its interactions with the environment and people within the communities it operates.

Earlier this month, Unilever Ghana was adjudged CSR Manufacturing Company of the Year at the Ghana CSR Excellence Awards.
