The UN Global Brand Ambassador has pledged unwavering support for promoting decent work and fostering economic growth among the youth, aligning with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal

Nana Agyemang Abbeam Danso has been appointed as the United Nations Global Brand Ambassador to Ghana. His goal is to empower young people by strengthening their role in promoting a peaceful, just, and sustainable world.

The United Nations has launched an initiative aimed at reinforcing efforts at the international, regional, and national levels to support the needs of young people, uphold their rights, and highlight their vital role in driving positive change.

During his swearing-in ceremony as the UN Global Brand Ambassador to Ghana, held at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre in Accra, Nana Abbeam Danso Agyemang expressed his commitment to promoting active youth participation in decision-making and international development efforts.

He made it clear that the task ahead is not his alone, but a shared responsibility involving various stakeholders such as the media, religious leaders, and communities throughout Ghana and beyond.
“This responsibility, not for only me. I am just a leader who is going to lead a group of people such as you, the media, and then also the Nananom, the clergymen, and then everybody. So as we are already been doing this program,” he stressed.

Nana Abbeam reiterated the UN’s dedication to improving lives and inspiring transformation. He shared plans to adopt similar strategies leveraging the power of media and grassroots engagement across Ghana and the world to help make a difference, one person at a time.
“Under his leadership as UN Global Ambassador in Ghana, pledged to provide opportunities for decent work and economic growth. Promote and protect the rights of young people and foster peace and stability through youth-led initiatives,” he disclosed.

He stressed how crucial it is to involve young people in UN activities and ensure that their ideas and perspectives are valued. Empowering youth, he noted, is key to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and creating a better future for generations to come.

He also advised young people to shift their focus away from chasing money and instead prioritize problem-solving and community service. He believes financial rewards will come naturally to those who commit themselves to helping others.

He urged youth to think innovatively and work toward solutions that tackle global challenges, instead of being driven by the pursuit of wealth.
“Money does not belong to anybody. Money is not the main thing that people should focus on, if you really want to excel in this life, the most important thing you should focus on is serving people solving problems. If you are able to solve problems and serve people, that is when you can be able to get money out of your understanding,” he advised the youth.
