The United Bank for Africa (Ghana) Limited, which has been adjudged Ghana’s “Best Bank – Product Innovation and Services” on Friday 25 August 2018 officially launched its Tarkwa branch in the Western Region making it their 28th business office in the country.
The launch of the new branch is part of the bank’s expansion programme to cover almost all regions in Ghana while coming closer to the customers who have contributed to UBA’s success in the country over the past 12 years.
The new business office offers convenience to customers of UBA in Tarkwa and its surrounding towns with a full bouquet of products of the bank. This is likely to save the teeming customers who before now had to travel down to Takoradi for their transactions.
Mr. Johnson Olakumni, who spoke on behalf of the MD/CEO of UBA Ghana, Mrs. Abiola Bawuah, said: “UBA is a special bank in Africa. Our presence in 18 other African countries has given us the needed leverage to offer superior value to our customers. We are delighted to be partnering with the people of Tarkwa in their development agenda. Anytime you see this business office, know that it is place that embraces all. We have committed personnel waiting to serve you as we encourage everyone to start a relationship with us”. “We wish to thank the people of Tarkwa for accepting and accommodating us,” the Head of Digital Banking at UBA added.
Nana Fosu III, Krontihene of Apinto Divisional council assured UBA of his support. He encouraged UBA to keep up with their good practices that get them standing tall among competitors. He said: “I am happy to say that, the council will consider opening an account with UBA as a sign of our support and in return to the respect they have paid to the council. We already have trust in you and we hope that our gesture will encourage our good people here to bank with you as well”.
Mr. Charles Opoku Amoateng, the Safety Manager for Goldfields who spoke on behalf of customers at UBA Tarkwa, praised the bank for its unparalleled customer service. “It was a delight on the first day we opened our account as a family. Each of us got our instant prepaid cards in addition to a MasterCard. We have been experiencing good customer service from that day and the experience has been remarkable. I think it’s a good place to bank and I encourage all to start saving with UBA”.
UBA as part of their CSR through the UBA Foundation, donated literature books to the Golden Age High School in contribution to education in Tarkwa. Madam Sandra Amoah, who received the books, on behalf of the school, thanked UBA for the gesture and promised that the books will be put to good use. “We will furnish our library with these books and encourage everyone to begin to develop the habit of reading”, she said.
The United Bank for Africa has been operating in Tarkwa since February 2017.
