Members of the National Petroleum Tanker Drivers Union, who work with the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR), have threatened to demonstrate against the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) over a recent directive it issued regarding their work.
According to a member of the union, Charles Danso, the NPA issued some directives to the effect that any member of the union with less than 10 tankers would no longer be allowed to transport fuel from TOR to fuel stations across the country. Also, tankers in use for more than 10 years would be barred from conveying fuel.
But Mr Danso told Accra100.5FM on Tuesday November 22: “It is sad for the NPA to issue these directives to us because they will keep us out of job. That is very sad.”
According to him, the NPA has to reverse this decision because of the challenge it poses to its work.
