A high-powered political figure from Germany is expected to visit Ghana in the next few months, German Ambassador to Ghana, Christoph Retzlaff, has said.
Although he refused to disclose the identity of the said person, Mr Retzlaff said the visit will further prove how close and strong Ghana-German relationship has become after 60 years.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Dr Etse Sikanku on World Affairs on Class91.3FM, the German diplomat said: “There is a very strong and close cooperation and friendship between our two countries and I’m inclined to say that relationship has never been closer and better than this year.
“This is underlined by the recent visit of His Excellency the President of Ghana to Berlin and it was his first trip outside of Africa in June to launch the G20 Africa conference. We also very soon have a high level visitor from Germany coming here to Ghana.
“We are also in intensive political dialogue with Ghana, we do a lot in development cooperation. We are increasing the level of German trade and investment here so things are really going in a good and right direction.”
Asked to disclose the identity of the political figure soon to visit Ghana, Mr Retzlaff said: “I’ll keep that a secret but we will see a very high level visitor in the next couple of months in Ghana here.”
