Seth Terkper, Minister of Finance, on Thursday October 20, laid a paper containing details of the government’s budget for the first-quarter of 2017 before parliament.
The paper has been referred to the Finance Committee of Parliament. The committee is expected to present its report on the estimates to the house after it has finished with its work.
The speaker of Parliament, Edward Doe Adjaho announced that: “Honorable members, the paper is duly laid. It is referred to the Finance Committee for consideration.”
On Friday October 14, Deputy Majority Leader Alfred Agbesi announced to the house that the budget would be presented on Thursday.
Mr Terkper was also expected to present the revenue and expenditure of the government for the entire 2017 financial year.
