The Minister of Finance, Seth Terkper, will be presenting the government’s budget for the first quarter of 2017 to parliament today, Thursday October 20.
On Friday October 14, Deputy Majority Leader Alfred Agbesi made the announcement to that effect on the floor of parliament.
Mr Terkper is also expected to present the revenue and expenditure of the government for the entire 2017 financial year.
Announcing activities that will take place in the House, Mr Agbesi said: “Honourable Speaker, bills will be presented for the first reading and those of an urgent nature will be taken through the various stages in one day in accordance with Standing Order 119…”
“The Minister of Finance is expected to present to the house on Thursday 20th October, 2016, the expenditure in advance of appropriation in January to March 2017 as well as the revenue and expenditure of the government of Ghana for the 2017 financial year.”
