Twenty-five people including five fire officers are receiving treatment at the hospital as a result of an explosion at a total filling station in Takoradi on the morning of Tuesday 9 May.
The fire, according to Daniel Dadzie, a local reporter, started at the Ghana Home Utility Manufacturing Company at about 7:45am.
It spread to an Olam depot next door and then to a total filling station which caused a huge explosion hurting some people and five fire officers who were battling to quench the initial flame at Olam and Ghana Home Utility Manufacturing Company.
The injured have been sent to GHAPOHA Hospital for treatment. The cause of the fire is unknown.
As a result of the accident the road in front of the filling station has been cordoned off by the police causing heavy traffic on alternate routes.
