Twenty-three residents of Taifa-Burkina have been rounded up by police in connection with Thursday’s shooting that claimed two lives.
Conflicting information gathered points to a gun fight between two gangs while others said the violence was over a woman.
The police are yet to state the real cause of the incident. However, one of the victims was shot dead while the other was butchered by a mob.
An eyewitness, who only gave his name as Ben, told Accra News’ Ama Brako Ampofo that he saw a mob chasing after two men, one of whom was holding a pump action gun.
According to him, the one with the gun entered a house but turned his gun on a guy who followed him, killing him instantly.
A mob, realising the assailant had shot and killed someone, turned on him and butchered him.
Class News’ Desmond Kofi Decker reports that police have also arrested a rasta man who they suspect played a role in the disturbances.
