Renowned actress Nana Ama McBrown has called on individuals and companies to donate generously towards Class Media Group’s Celebrity Orphanage Easter Funfair.
The event is scheduled to take place at the Efua Sutherland Children’s Park on Easter Monday April 17 and the ace actress has invited well-meaning Ghanaians and companies to be present at the event to put a smile on the faces of orphans.
“If you want to do good, it doesn’t matter if you are a company or an individual. If you are touched, come to the Efua Sutherland Children’s Park and support the programme and if we come to you for aid to support the kids, give the little you have,” she said on Ayekoo Ayekoo on Accra100.5FM on Wednesday 12 April with host Nana Romeo.
Nana Ama McBrown, who is among the many celebrities billed for the programme, said just as children laugh when they watch her movies, she would go all out on the day to entertain them and put a smile on their faces during the Easter festivities.
“The kids have the knowledge that Nana Ama McBrown is a comedian because when they watch my movies or see me they think of Lil Win or Kweku Manu or Akrobeto. So, basically, I’ll do something to make them laugh and happy. I will play with them and let them know I’m the same person they see on TV.”
The Celebrity Orphanage Easter Funfair event is intended to bring children from selected orphanages in the Greater Accra Region together in one location to socialise and interact with selected Ghanaian celebrities to make them feel loved and entertained during the Easter festivities.
There will be a variety of games for the children with performances by the various artistes as well as free medical screening and donations to the various orphanages.
The selected orphanages are the Teshie Orphanage, the Potters Village, and Chosen Home.
The list of celebrities doing this with CMG include comedians Funny Face and Kalybos, movie stars Martha Ankomah, Majid Michel, and Yvonne Nelson.
Others are Nana Ama McBrown, Vicky Zugah Amy Newman, John Dumelo, SP Kofi Sarpong, Joyce Blessing, Lydia Forson, and Pascal Amanfo.
The rest are A Plus, Pearl Amoah, Abeiku Santana, Asabea Cropper, Blakk Eye, Moro Awudu, Emefa Apawu, and Mauvie Hayford.
CMG is, therefore, calling on individuals and corporate bodies to donate towards the programme to put a smile on an orphan’s face.
