Former Minister of Water Resources, Works and Housing, Abubakar Siddiq Boniface, has advised sports Minister, Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, to deal diligently with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) if he is to succeed.
There has been no love lost between the Minister the FA for months over a host of issues including a decision by the Sports Ministry not to cater for the airfare of Black Stars players who were invited for a Nation’s Cup qualifier against Rwanda in September.
Many believe the situation could affect Ghana’s chances of qualifying for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Speaking to Class Sports, Mr Boniface said the two bodies should see themselves as partners rather than enemies.
“Almost all the past sports ministers had problems and faced some difficulties at the sector. So I believe that the honorable Minister, Nii Lantey Vandapuye, should sit down with GFA and find solutions to the problems. The Ministry should give the GFA much attention and see them as partners in development not as enemies in development.
