State attorneys have given the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Justice and Attorney General’s Department and the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission a seven-day ultimatum to implement orders of the National Labour Commission with regards to their conditions of service or they go on strike.
The state attorneys are demanding a litany of things including vehicles as part of their conditions of service.
The leaders of the Association of State Attorneys have said they are at a loss as to why the NLC’s directive has not been complied with a year on.
They are demanding payment of their harmonised salaries, a sustainable pension scheme, research allowance, housing facilities, free healthcare, payment of their clothing and fuel allowance; payment of outstanding salary arrears, provision of logistic support, machinery, equipment and tools among others.
