Former Black Stars goalkeeper Abukari Damba has partly blamed the national team’s inability to be clinical up front for their defeat at the hands of the Pharaohs of Egypt on Sunday.
According to the former goalie, the Stars were poor in front of goal despite dominating a larger part of the game.
“The Black Stars were quite a transformed side playing against the Egyptians and approached the game with some seriousness. Yes, we dominated the game and were in control but we were just poor in front of goal. We wasted a lot of chances and we had bad finishing in the game,” he told Class Sports.
The Black Stars lost two-nil to Egypt.
Egypt now lead the group with six points with Uganda second with four points as Ghana come third with one point and Congo at the bottom with no point.
Ghana will face Congo in their next qualifying match in 2017.
