Dr. Dominic Obeng-Andoh, the Director of the Advanced Body sculpt Centre popularly known as Obengfo Hospital, has rejected suggestions that he is responsible for the death of the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship Innovation Programme (NEIP), Stacy Offei-Darko.
Together with his janitor, who has also been charged with impersonation, the duo have been accused of having a hand in Ms. Offei-Darko’s death.
The late Deputy NEIP CEO died while on admission at the Obengfo Hospital on 21 May 2018 after having undergone a surgery allegedly performed by Dr. Obeng-Andoh.
Dr. Obeng-Andoh and his janitor were arrested, detained and currently being tried for murder.
The court has, however, granted him bail.
In an interview on ‘Ayekoo Ayekoo’ on Accra100.5FM on Thursday, 18 October 2018, Dr. Obeng-Andoh stated emphatically that: “It was never my fault”.
“I will not intentionally do anything that will lead to a patient’s death,” he added.
The embattled body sculptor declined to give further comments on the matter since the case is pending in court.
“A lot of the things being said about the case are lies”, he said, adding: “…This is not a case that should have ended up in court in the first place”.
Ms. Offei-Darko, he revealed, was a friend of his.
Dr. Obeng-Andoh said he could not visit Ms. Offei-Darko’s family to commiserate with them due to his detention in connection with her death.
He urged the media to be circumspect in their reportage, since, according to him, the performance of health practitioners is affected whenever facts involved in matters of that nature are twisted and misrepresented.
