Ghanaian soul and hip-hop artiste Lord Paper has admitted he had real sex with a female model in the video of his song titled Awurama.
The video, which showed Lord Paper and a female model engaged in steamy sexual moves got tongues wagging and Ghanaians talking for days.
The musician and the model on several platforms denied the act was real. In one interview, the controversial musician said he had an erection on set during the shoot of the erotic video but did not penetrate the vixen.
“I wanted it to look real, like we were actually doing it (having sex). I will be very honest: I had an erection but there was no penetration…I did this video for particular people, but with the way it has gone, I am sorry, it will not happen again,” he said earlier.
But speaking with Natalia Andoh on E on Class on Class91.3FM on Saturday, 22 July, Lord Paper admitted the erotic scene was real as he had sex with the model who is his friend.
In response to whether he actually made love to the lady in the video, he said: “Yes that was the concept.”
The host repeated the question: “So you did (have sex) in the video?” and Lord Paper stressed “yes”. He noted that although the lady vixen was his friend, what they did was a job and he paid her to do it. “It was a job and I paid her.”
Lord Paper noted that after his video went viral and he decided to stop nudity and erotic scenes, he has released some songs but Ghanaians do not appreciate good music.
“After I trended, I dropped a couple of songs like Sikaduro, Maame Serwaa. I was advised by so many people that this is Ghana, if you have the talent to be able to sing, able to record, I should do the music and stop the nude stuff because at the end of the day the country looks at moral values…so I decided to listen to them although I don’t like to take advise and I stopped the nudes for a bit. I dropped good songs and I realised Ghanaians don’t care about good songs, they care about interesting stuff.”
The musician and the model received criticism from a section of the public for the video’s pornographic nature.
The video even generated misunderstanding between the model, Vonita Pearl Nana Yaa Darko, and her father, Nana Kofi Darko.
Nana Darko described the video as a “big shame” and asked her daughter to go on her knees to weep in regret.
