The Ashanti regional hospital being constructed at Aboase Sewua in the Bosomtwi district is about 70 per cent complete, Mr Tony Goodman, Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Health has said.
According to him, the project, just as other regional and district hospitals being constructed throughout the country, forms part of the ministry’s policy of ensuring that every region and district in the country gets a hospital.
Speaking in an interview with Chief Jerry Forson, host of Ghana Yensom, on Accra 100.5FM on Tuesday October 25, Mr Good man said: “This is a 1000-bed capacity hospital. So far the first phase which is about being completed will provide us 120 to 200 beds.”
He added: “The project as of now is about 70 per cent complete. It is part of the district hospitals the government is building across the country. This particular one and the other one in the Upper West Region are the regional hospitals being built now. The other hospitals are those in Tepa and other districts across the country.”
“Our policy as a ministry is that every region will have a regional hospital and every district will have a district hospital, and, so, this and some other hospitals being built in the Ashanti Region are part of the policy we have as a ministry.”
