Ghana’s Finance Minister Seth Terkper is expected to present the mid-year budget review to Parliament on Friday, July 22, 2016. According to Starr News’ Parliamentary correspondent Kobby Gomez-Mensah, the notice was communicated to members by the deputy Majority Leader Alfred Agbesi. However, he said the event is likely to be postponed to Monday, July 25, 2016 “following a protest that was put in by the Minority Leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu. According to the Minority Leader, since the mid-year review of the budget will coincide with the funeral ceremony of the late MP for Abetifi, Peter Wiafe Pepra, it would be appropriate to postpone or reschedule Terkper’s engagement with the House. The second Deputy Speaker, Hon. Joe Ghartey who presided over the issue directed the Business Committee of the House to get in touch with the leadership to resolve the matter.
