Saudi Arabian clubs have expressed interest in signing Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey, with a potential transfer fee of €40 million.
The proposed payment would be made in instalments, making it an appealing option for the North London club.
The Ghanaian’s departure from Arsenal is becoming more likely, however, no final decision has been made by the player regarding his future. In addition to the Saudi interest, Partey has received approaches from European clubs, further complicating matters.
Despite the growing speculation, Arsenal has yet to enter into new contract talks with Partey, who is under contract until 2025.
Partey, who joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid for £45 million in 2020, played a crucial role in the Gunners’ campaign last season, featuring in 33 out of 38 Premier League matches as they mounted their first Premier League title challenge in 15 years.
However, Arsenal are looking to develop their promising young squad further and are open to the departure of the 30-year-old midfielder, despite their return to the Champions League.
This comes merely three years after Partey became the fourth most expensive player in the club’s history.
