The 2018 National Nurses and Midwives Managers and Leaders Conference has opened in Accra.
Mrs Samira Bawumia, who delivered the keynote address, also launched the Nursing and Midwifery Strategic Plan and Services Framework (2019 – 2023) at the event.
The wife of Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia stressed the need for health workers to be adequately resourced and motivated to give off their best, especially, as Ghana works towards achieving universal health coverage.
“It is refreshing to know that collectively, nurses and midwives have a blueprint to guide the discharge of their professional duties as frontline caregivers to the Ghanaian people,” she stated.
