THE DISTRICT Pastor of the Apostolic Church Ghana in Kejeji in the Sene East District of the Brong-Ahafo Region, Pastor Sackey Baiden, and an elder of his church, Stephen Ambah, were yesterday gunned down by suspected armed robbers between Asante Boah and Debidi on the Kumasi-Atebubu highway.
The robbers, according to information gathered by DAILY GUIDE, did not take anything from the men of God as their mobile phones, Bibles and money were still on them at the time they were killed.
The pastor and the elder were said to be travelling on a motorbike from Kejeji to Asante Mampong when they met their untimely death.
Pastor Sackey, who DAILY GUIDE learnt was recently transferred from Winneba in the Central Region to Kejeji, was believed to be travelling on a church assignment.
The incident happened between the hours of 8:40 am and 9:00 am.
The pastor, who was reportedly wearing a black coat over a white long sleeves shirt, was hit by a bullet in the chest whilst the elder, who was also in brown coat, was hit at the waist.
The Atebubu Amantin District police revealed that the Sene East District head pastor and the elder were killed by five armed robbers suspected to be Fulanis.
As at the time of filing this report, the police at Atebubu were still combing the area for the suspected armed robbers.
The District Police Commander, ASP George Antwi Tanor, told Adom Fm that the robbers quickly ran into the bush when they heard the police approaching the crime scene.
ASP Antwi Tanor said they quickly organised a search party to trace the robbers but four hours of intensive search did not yield any results.
