Aduana Stars assistant coach W.O. Tandoh believes they are fully prepared for their maiden home game in Caf Confederation Cup group stage after a 3-2 victory over Liberty Professionals in Ghana Premier League matchday one outstanding game on Thursday.
Goals from Congo international Oba Ikama Ulitch, who was making his debut, and strikes from Bright Adjei and Yahaya Mohammed were enough to win the game for the Fire Club despite two late goals from Simon Zibo and Brite Andoh.
Aduana suffered a 1-0 defeat to Asec Mimosas on the Caf Confed group stage opening day in Abidjan last weekend and will host Raja on May 16.
“The players did well because we had few days to relax and prepare for the game against Liberty. The win here is a catalyst for success in the Caf Confederation Cup,” Tandoh said.
“Liberty are a great side and they gave us a good test ahead of Raja Casablanca’s visit. With what we saw here today, Raja can’t survive in Dormaa Ahenkro and I’m sure we’ll pick our first victory in the group stage,” he added.
DR Congo side A.S Vita Club will host Asec in the other group game.
